I need your help... to change HISTORY!!
Heya, all, I was wondering if anyone could help me out. As some of you may have noticed, most all of my past comics aren't showing up in my journal. This is because the domain of my (pretty much never used) web site has gone the way of the dodo. All my comics are still in my web host, the links that are in my journal just don't lead to them anymore.

BUT! If I can find some way to change the code I can fix it so that the comics will reappear. The rub is that I have just short of three years worth of comics in this damn thing, and like hell am I going to go through, entry by entry, fixing the links.

So! Does anyone know of a program of some sort that will go through all my past LJ entries and find/replace a bit of text?

Well...are you allowed to edit .htaccess files on your webhost? You could look up how to do URL redirects so that any hits to your old directory will forward automatically to the new one.

Seems to me that it would be easiest to apply a redirect on your hosting server. You can send traffic from on directory to another or from domain to domain that way.

Did you lose your domain name? or just move things?

Yes! The domain name is what I lost! Gah, I have been away from the web so long I am forgetting what things are called. Soon I won't know what that... moving... pointing thing... am called.

Sorry you left the grind. If your resolution is too much, maybe try for just a weekly post?

Your comics always gave me a chuckle and I hope I'll be able to see more stuff from you yet.

Woohoo! :D

Did some peekin' and it looks good to me so far. But there's a few that seem to have been missed - apparently ones that weren't in jam-land.com/jam-o-gram before.

Might want to just go and swap out every occurrence of "jam-land.com"; that should theoretically get everything.


(How does she have so many examples readily available, you ask? Simple! She's a crazed stalker She enjoys the comic a lot and has a collection of favorites! yeah, that sounds more reasonable, let's go with that.)

Yeah, I thought I may have missed a few, I put comics in a lot of weird places early on. Jamalamadingdong and what not.
