As some of you may or may not know I'm trying to get out of my rut, and to that end I am navel-deep in another Tall-Head Adventure. This one features a lot less structure, and is basically turning into comic that you guys write and I draw. Also, rough, quick drawing so that we can keep things moving along quickly. Even so, I am still doing things that I am pleasently surprised by...

Though your armor does indeed spare you any injury as your smash through the cave wall, you lose your grip on the object on impact.

Which of course means that you are falling back toward the rough and treacherous waters that surround Hobo Island.

So feel free to stop by and leave your suggestions, if you are not already (here is where it began, if you want to read what we have so far). Good clean fun will be had by all!

I just needed to collect the pages of Forsyth that I have in one place, and being my lazy self this felt like the best way to present them. So yeah, nothing new.

Just so you guys know, I am working on new projects, just don't have much I want to report publicly just yet.

This is the first time (and probably not the last) I wished (wished) I was able to put an audio effect in Tall-Head Adventures.

This needs the character making an "AAaaAAaaAAaaAAaaAA" typa yelp. Maybe in the future...

I love the weird places this thing goes. It is not world-changing, but I am drawing lots of weird shit I have never drawn before, so I hope this makes up for the current lack of TOC-WOP, for both of us.

I think this is probably my favorite part of Tall-Head Adventures thus far, for two reasons. One, it came out better than I had expected, and more importantly two, it is sort of a proof of concept for me. I never would have even begun to consider hijinks like this had it not been for you guys, submitting commands for out hapless hero. So I just want to take a moment and thank everyone who has (have?) been participating. Thanks, guys! Anyone who has not yet stuck their toe in is more than welcome to dive right in!

Start at the beginning, read though what people have
done thus far, and then suggest your own commands!

So, fewer comics these days than I would like, but I am super sick today, and too tired for major thought.

On the other hand, I'm still working on Tall-Head Adventures, which requires minimal concentration. For those who may have missed it, it is basicaly an advenure game that I write as you play, so anything goes! No more of that "You can't get ye flask." bullshit! Try to solve the "puzzles", or just make the guy take off his close and paint ketchup on his face. For more info, check out the FAQ (which is to say, the profile for the journal that I created for the psudo-adventure game I am drawing).

Start at the beginning, read though what people have
done thus far, and then sugest your own commands!

(Psst, don't tell anyone, I snagged the idea from MS Paint Adventures, which I fully encourange you to check out.)

It looks like people are enjoying Tall-Head Escape, and I am having fun putting it together, so I went ahead and made a journal for Tall-Head Adventures. I considered making a site, but LJ has the advantages of automatically archiving the entries and proving a comment system, which is so critical for a project of this nature.

I plan to treat this as on ongoing project that will coincide with other projects such as TOC-WOP, which is why I chose to use a whole other journal rather than this one. I hope to update THA at least once a day, though I would love to do it a lot more often than that.

So head on over and leave suggestions! This is something that cannot exist without you guys! Weee!

You hurl yourself with full force at what you assume to be a keypad.

It would seem that it was a keypad! Unfortunately, you assault had little effect on your situation as a whole, other than making the keypad a keypad no longer, and making you a little dizzy.

>Now headbutt the metal door. Maybe it's actually tin foil?

Dazed from your earlier aggressiveness, you decide the best course of action is to plow through the metal door head-first and hope for the best.

Which turns out to be an interesting way to find out that the door is not actually locked in any way, and leads into some kind of chute...

You land with a resounding WHUD. Luckily, your had has proven to be a solid piece of equipment, and you suffer no major damage (as long no one was looking).

Whew! It would seem that, even after such a nasty tumble, your pants are unscathed. I guess you got worried over nothing.

Whilst conducting a thorough pants check, you discover a few items in your pockets. You find some LOOSE CHANGE, a packet of KETCHUP, and your trusty WAND.

You ready your WAND, intone a spell at random and direct it at your PANTS.

LO! You have transmogrified your PANTS into a DASHING TIE. Things are looking up!

Okay, in case you guys did not know, MS Paint Adventures is pretty much the best thing that has ever happened to the Internet, ever. I read through all of Problem Sleuth up to the present, and I don't think I have laughed out lout this much at a single site since... well, I don't think I have ever laughed out loud this much at a single site. It is pure gold.

And, as with anything I take an interest in, I'm gotta steal the idea! At first I thought I would do a piratey typa thing, but I think that would just take too damn long. So instead I am going to start simple with an escape type of scenario, like the olde tymee adventure games of yore.

Basically, you guys will leave comments as if you were typing commands into the game. I will then pick one, and draw up a new screen. Then you type more commands, and so on.

Feel free to type anything. It will flow a little like an actual adventure game, but unlike a game that is shipped by a developer, this thing will be very organic and mold itself to whatever you say. So go nuts! Try to solve any "puzzles", sure, but also try weird stuff, who knows what may happen?!?

(For the time being, I will place new screens at the top of this journal entry, and move old screen under a cut. If this thing takes off, I am thinking of stating a whole new journal to better manage things.)

I think that, rather than doing custom minis, I will do a few quick ones that I will mass produce. SO! If you guys could see anything of mine in mini-comic form, what would you like? Old things expanded? Totally new crap? Speak your minds!

Heya, folks, gonna take a quick brake from posting about TOC-WOP to make you an offer you can't refuse (unless you do, in fact, refuse it).

My girl koi_suru_usagi has found out that our school is offering a ten day trip to Japan next year in conjunction with a class. Now, let me tell you, Vee is all kind of nuts about visiting Japan. It is one of her life goals (many of her other life goals include additional trips, I am sure), so she jumped at the chance to sign up. Trouble is, space in the trip is limited, and to guarantee a spot she needs to pony up a $1000 deposit sometime in the next few weeks.

Needless to say she and I don't really have that kind of scratch, so here is the deal! We are both gonna start taking rapid-fire commissions to raise money for the trip. Vee will be offering full color (full color!) drawings by request, so be sure to check that out. I don't know if I have ever mentioned it here before, but Vee is an amazing artist, and a wizard with her Copic markers. This is a deal not to be passed up!

On my side of things, I will be stealing and idea from stereotypist (among others) and offering custom comics in exchange for your donations. Not just comics, actually, I will probably do most anything you request. Single page comics, character portraits, splash pages, even custom mini-comics! Comics can be of just about anything, so ask away!

I will likely be doing these digitally, so you have the option of getting a high resolution version of your comic to do with as you please, or (for a tiny bit more) I will print the comic all nice-like and send it to you!

Better late than never. Also, it turns out I enjoy researching and drawing animals. Go figure. Here we have the Rhinoceros Hornbill, as suggested by lemmingsolution.

Do not forget to leave comments with suggestions for the comics. Subjects, situations, settings, celebrities, other obscure animals, go crazy. I may combine several suggestions into one, hybrid comic, capable of tearing a phone book in half.

Todays comic comes from a comment left by that wide-eye little scamp, bougieman. The pixelated emptiness was my idea.

You see, I have decided that, in order to break out of my same-old-same-old I am going to start taking suggestions from you guys as to what these comics should be about. BUT! I am going to strive to choose strange and unusual ones that lie out of my comfort zone, drawing things I have never drawn before in new and varying styles. So feel free to make suggestions for things you would not otherwise see me doing, both in terms of subjects and situations as well as art styles and color palettes.

I'm not going to push myself too hard, as I do not want to allow myself to become discouraged and give up, but I do want to try to push my boundaries.

I tried to make a new LJ icon, but my idea ended up being too big, and I was unable to tweak it to a point that I was satisfied with. I'll continue to meditate on it, other ideas will pop up. Here is the bloated failure, for people to see.

I had a lot of trouble coloring this one. I did two versions, and wasn't really satisfied with either. Atop we see the second one, which I felt was the lesser of two evils. The first version is behind the cut, for those who are curious.

I am thinking maybe my tastes for color have changed? Or maybe I was just too lazy to do it right.

So unsquare had a cool idea, which is to, in order to get ourselves out of our respective funks, draw thirty-one comics with out punchlines. No pressure to try and make the thing funny or memorable, just an excuse to draw a comic.

It is my hope that I will be able to, in the long term, use this as a lunching pad toward again making comics with with punchlines, and, in the short term, get back into drawing at all(because it seems, based on this comic, that I am waaaay out of practice).

So! I am calling it TOC-WOP (tock-whop) and will do it five days a week (including todays, to round it out) for the next six weeks. Wish me luck!
